2019/2/17 Healthy Hearts 2, Ps Sam Kang

February 17, 2019

Here is part 2 of how we can have a Healthy Heart. Jesus teaches us about the condition of our heart being like a type of ground or soil. Our hearts are big with lots of space. Jesus desires to teach us about life in the kingdom of heaven and how it is to be lived out by depositing seed or messages into our hearts. Whether it takes root and grows is dependent upon how we receive it. Are we receiving his word entirely or just partially? Take a listen and see how you can have a healthy heart!

It's a simple yet profound message on why we need each other and we no longer need to hide. Come and take a listen.

10/14/2018 Glorifying God in the Midst of Transition - Ps Walt Chen

October 14, 2018

10/14/2018 Glorifying God in the Midst of Transition - Ps Walt Chen

The main difference between change and transition is that while change points to a specific day or moment, transition points to the process in response to change. Because God is faithful, we are called to glorify God even if transition is confusing and difficult. We do so by leaving the previous chapter of our life behind (Philippians 3:13), by moving to the new chapter (Jeremiah 29:11), and by trusting in God's renewal process (Psalm 103:1-5).

10/07/2018 Glorifying God in the midst of change - Ps Walt Chen

Romans 8:28 says that in all things, God works for the good of those who loved him, who have been called according to His purpose. God is good, even in the midst of our troubles and changing circumstances. We need to find assurance in the reality that God is for us. No one likes "change." But we can and we are called to glorify Him by guarding our hearts and by learning to trust and rely on Him.

9/16/2018 Loving Church by Serving - Tim Lee

September 16, 2018

9/16/2018 Loving Church by Serving – Tim Lee

Joshua 24:15 says, “as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” What does ‘serve the Lord’ even mean? Let’s explore what serving the Lord and serving the church means.

Serving is:

(1) not the same as volunteering work,

(2) not about yourself,

(3) not that God need us to serve.

Instead, serving is:

(1) utilizing your spiritual gifts and talents,

(2) experiencing God on a personal level,

(3) experiencing God’s Love,

(4) worshipping God.

You can love your church by serving. You can also love God by serving. (Spoiler Alert for Avengers: Infinity War.)

9/9/2018 I Love My Church - Ps Walt Chen

September 09, 2018

9/9/2018 I Love My Church - Ps Walt Chen

God's intention for us believers is to love His church as He intended it to be. In John 13 Jesus gave the disciples a new command: to love one another so that the world may know that we are His disciples. This love is agape love; it is unconditional, it is the kind of love that God poured out for us. In the same way, we must love the church like the way God loved us. Not conditional, Not self-focused, Not ungrateful. Instead, such love ought to be based on relationship.

8/26/2018 Does God Care About Numbers? - Ps Walt Chen

August 26, 2018

8/26/2018 Does God Care About Numbers? - Ps Walt Chen

How does a church measure its effectiveness in ministry? Quality or Quantity? Does God care about numbers? Are we just a bunch of numbers? Which is it? We know from the Scriptures that yes, God does care about numbers, but He also cares about the heart (quality). When it comes to measuring success, it's important to remember that God cares about both the quality and the quantity. Numbers alone is never the focus, but it helps to see whether we are being effective in the area of our ministry.

8/19/2018 Habit #7: Sharpening Your Saw - Ps Walt Chen

August 19, 2018

8/19/2018 Habit #7: Sharpening Your Saw - Ps Walt Chen

The idea of sharpening the saw is about planning and continuous improvement in our lives. Jesus says "I'm the vine, you are the branches, without me, you can do nothing!" That's why He offers us peace and rest. He offers us ways to really sharpen the saw in our lives. The saw of our life has 4 dimensions: physical, social/emotional, mental and spiritual. If we habitually neglect these 4 dimensions, we will drastically reduce our ability to be effective; but on the other hand, if we do take care of these 4 dimensions in our lives, we will be able to really thrive in every areas of our lives!

8/5/2018 Open Our Eyes to See the Unseen - Ps Rick & Dottie Kurnow

August 05, 2018

Look around, what do you see? Ask God to open your eyes to see the unseen and you will be amazed how much God is involved in what is going on around you. Don’t judge your circumstances by what you see in the natural. Open your eyes to the supernatural.

7/15/2018 Habit #5: Compassion 101 - Ps Walt Chen

July 15, 2018

7/15/2018 Habit #5: Compassion 101 - Ps Walt Chen

Like all other habits, compassion is something that originates from God himself. If we want to show forth compassion, we must first learn to receive God's compassion first in our lives. Jesus is known for His compassion in His healing ministry. Everywhere he goes, he heals not because He was the Son of God, but because he was filled with compassion. He not only wants us to be healed from our sickness, He wants us to be healed from the inside out. People have the tendency to hide from their hurt and their broken-ness, but for God, where you hurt is where you heal!

2018/7/8 Habit #4: Relational Excellence - Ps Walt Chen

July 08, 2018

7/8/2018 Habit #4: Relational Excellence - Ps Walt Chen

People with relational excellence is proven to have a happier and more successful life. That's the reason why it's so important to learn to live at peace with everyone to the best of our ability. And the ability to do so is learning to let go of the hurt and the bitterness in our heart. Bitterness is deep and hidden, and if untreated, it can grow into spikes and cause troubles relationally (Hebrews 12:14-16). It can become a stronghold that prevents us from receiving a breakthrough from God. Forgiveness is the key that releases and breaks the spell of bitterness. Only by doing so can we truly be effective in God's kingdom!

7/1/2018 Habit #3: The Power of Priority - Ps Walt Chen

July 01, 2018

7/01/2018 Habit #3: The Power of Priority - Ps Walt Chen

God is constantly pursuing us and His desire is that we would love and serve Him, not as servants, but as co-laborers and friends. Servants are task-oriented, but friends share an intimate relationship with each other. Mary and Martha are a classic example of these two different mentalities. One tries to work FOR His presence and the other tries to work FROM His presence. If we don't get this, we may think we are putting God as the priority but end up missing Him all together. At the end of the day, there is really just one priority that dictates and affects every areas of our lives. Will we choose what is better just like Mary did?

6/24/2018 Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind - Ps Walt Chen

June 24, 2018

6/24/2018 Habit #2: Begin with the end in mind - Ps Walt Chen

Highly effective Christians learn and train themselves to “begin with the end in mind.” It’s means to have a clear vision/understanding of your destiny. We can be so busy in life or sometimes in ministry without being very effective. In the same way, God always begins the end in mind. Not only does he already have a plan for the fallen humanity, He knew each of us before we were born, and He has a great plan for our lives. Effective believers and followers of Jesus will take this habit seriously, living each day to the fullest by discovering and walking in his or her God-given destiny!
